Greetings,
I'm currently looking into the purchasing of bogu as I will be able to use it in about a month. I'd like to get a general idea of the delivery time for bogu sets. Based on my research, I know that it can take anywhere from a week to six months. Please post any information you have that might help me.
My questions:
What is the average delivery time for "in-stock" bogu sets?
What is the average delivery time for "custom" bogu sets?
(I'm currently most interested in Eguchi and Aoi)

If I have to guess, it is about ten years.

my experience is limited to ebogu, who have consistently had gear delivered to new zealand within five days of ordering - the bogu orders i've been involved in have all been dispatched within a few hours of ordering, and been on the plane by the next morning.

Eguchi USA can take as long as 1 month on "in stock bogu" though ususally less than a couple of weeks.
AOI about 1 week for "in stock bogu"
Eguchi can take as long as 3 months on "Custom Bogu" if items are readily available from their suppliers. I have had it take 5 months for some items.
AOI is a little faster but does not have the same quality. 1-2 months for "custom bogu". I have never heard of it taking longer than that.
Look into Tozando as well. I have started using them with good success and could not be more pleased with the customer service.
Note - If your in a hurry and need the bogu by a deadline you should call these places and get time quotes from them. Especially when dealing with Eguchi. Hold them to the deadline. The personal touch (your phone call) helps.
Sminch are you dealing with EGUCHI Japan or USA

AOI is fairly prompt, just be sure whatever you are ordering is in stock. E-bogu is very fast but again, make sure it is in stock. I've never dealt with Eguchi.

I just bought a set of 4/2mm form e-Bogu and got in a couple of days. Nice set for the money.

ours was through e-bogu, usa. there are a few places i looked at in australia and asia, on the assumption that they'd have less expensive shipping, but e-bogu has worked out really well for the people i know in new zealand. whether the quality of the gear is up to scratch, only time will tell...
apologies to the op for the tangent :D just a heads up that some suppliers can have you their in-stock gear quicker than you'd have guessed!

Yes, from what I have seen with others and my own personal experience, if the item is "off the shelf" (ie. e-bogu and some items in eguchi, meaning it is sitting on a shelf in their warehouse in Torrance), then its standard shipping times.
If the items are not "off the shelf", meaning that they have to come from Japan (my bogu from Eguchi, one of their standard sets, not "custom") , for me it took about 2 months because it was being shipped surface and they normally weight until they have more than one set to ship....
Honestly, at the time it felt like it was some guy in a row boat crossing the pacific ocean with my bogu. I must have called them every two weeks or so.... "is it here yet?"... course my sensei was like "where's your bogu?" also every two weeks...
Been very happy with Eguchi though since then...

Great story :D
I'll make sure I ask for one of the faster delivery options.
Thanks for your help.
