Nope, seminar only. If you want to grade, you'll need to email the grading officer as all grading applications should've been in by 9th Jan (two months prior).

I am told it's packed because elf n' safety bods have decreed that numbers must be restricted to fewer.

Although, I have also heard that numbers have been restricted because people have moaned that in the past they didn't get enough practice time.

Either way, perhaps it is time to establish another seminar at which people can grade to reduce the clamour for the main three. Or we could consider larger venues. I know we will be looking for even larger premises for the Darlington seminar this year. Jodo is getting more popular in the North and the iaido seminar was sold out well in advance ( and it was too full as it was ). I have suggested to Ian Applegarth that we consider using the Education Village for the whole seminar - bigger and newer facilities and it would keep everyone together.

That's really interesting about Darlington and the Education Village. We found it to be a brilliant facility last year, really bright and clean with excellent floors.

Regarding Watchet, it's really unfortunate what has happened this year and, as I have written to some of you already, the Iaido Bu members and myself are working on ensuring that this doesn't happen again. I can only say that the growth in members has been so dramatic, no one could work fast enough to catch up.

Scott, our berfdays are on a Sunday this year so that means we get to spend about half of it in a cold dark sports hall with no sunlight - how cool!
