hi all, im just here to ask a question. i was wondering how the sizing for a pair of Hakama goes, i know ym length but how i determan my waste size, i wear a 48 in american clothing size, with a 52" waste, i was wondering what size to order for this to fit my waste, anyone gimme a hint ?

I don't think you'll have a problem with waist size... as long as you have the correct length. You'll just have more or less to tie up with at the end...

With a 52" waist I think you'll find stock sizes don't fit very well. I suggest you go to a custom maker like Bujin (www.bujindesign.com) for best results.

Follow Niel's suggestion. I have a 42" waist and wear the largest stock size, 29, and the himo are just barely long enough for me to tie.

Bujindesign make really good quality gear. I do think however that their 10oz cotton fabric is a bit too heavy. I have 2 bujin hakamas - an 8oz twill fabric, and a 10oz cotton one. The twill one is much more comfortable and sits much better - the cotton, even after 4 years, is still stiff and looks like a busted tent.
