I'm due my upgrade soon, and I have long since been out of the whole phone scene for the last 18months! So I'll be getting a new phone and don't know what to get... Anyone got a phone that they hate? One that they really love?

I was considering either:

Nokia 6500 slide...... (http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/nokia-6500-slide.htm)

Nokia N95....... (http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/nokia-n95.htm)

Motorola v8 (http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/motorola-razr2-v8.htm)....

Samsung g600.... (http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk/samsung-g600.htm)

What do you reckon? Just wanted to know if anyone would recommend one or anything, there seems to be so much on the market, I don't understand it!!!

Out of those the Samsung seem to be better. Although when you get this (http://fredflare.com/customer/product.php?productid=2059&cat=353#) or this (http://fredflare.com/customer/product.php?productid=3432&cat=309) you'll be having to much fun to notice which phone you have =P

Yes I'm a bit mad

Edit: just read some of the reviews and it seems to be a bit marmitey

I've never had a cell phone as elegantly simple and useful as the iPhone that I purchased three months ago. I won't preach - some can't live with its limitations, others would sell their children to have one. I see it is quite expensive in the U.K. It was for me as well in the U.S. but I needed a new cell phone anyway and was also looking to get my first iPod. Now I've got both and so much more. This is only my opinion, so I'll tell you that I'm the opposite of a techno-geek but there is nothing about this phone I "don't understand". I'm pretty sure you'd be the same.

Don't get the nokia N95 if you need it in an emergency as they a crammed full of bugs that causes them to keep crashing, too much stuff in a little box, go for reliability and bat life as the camera is never as good a a proper camera you probably all ready have a better mp3 player etc. I feel a phone should be a phone first although the cheap nasty nokia with a torch built in is the most useful phone add on ever.
At leats so I believe

hehe I just resigned from my job at o2 Customer Services today. I'd listen to the comment on N95, all the N series are quite problematic - lots and lots of warranty returns. The Samsung is great, most Samsung are, very sturdy. 6500 is also very good. Scott's recommendation is a good one, previous cybershots had a navigational joystick which was prone to breaking but they've ditched it on the new one - but some do come back due to small cracks on the keys so if you're clumsy it might not be a great choice.

In conclusion, take the Samsung or any non-N series Nokia.

i have the cheapest one verizon was offering about 3 years ago...and i honestly think it does a better job at being a phone than a lot of the newer ones, iphone included

Wow, so you chose a three-year old Verizon CDMA phone over an iPhone? Too bad Stephanie is in the U.K. where neither Verizon nor CDMA exist. Must be a really great phone otherwise, whatever it was.

I think having full access to the internet on your phone is dangerous. Me? I just use everyone else's phones. My minutes are infinite, every call is free, there is no contract to sign.

My thing is that I buy a cell phone to have a decent phone, not to have a really crappy camera, really crappy web browsing device, or really crappy mp3 player shoved into a small box. One of my friends has an iphone, and while I can see why someone might like it, I gotta say that I'm not impressed. Now I'm having to get a new phone, since this one is dying, and it'll probably be replaced with something similar to this (http://tinyurl.com/2o5f6v).

Are you sure you want to be using such a derogatory term on this forum?

Is 'japs' a derogatory term? Never thought of it as such myself.

Anyway, back to thread. Steph, you should buy a pink phone cos you're a girlie.

I don't know. In America, we don't have the same cell phones that are sold in Europe.

You could try the SonyEricsson k800i - loads of features, easy to use and is quite sturdy (or at least my one seems to be - bounced it off the concrete too many times to remember whilst at work and, aside from the odd chip or scratch, is just as functional as it was when I first got it).

No I never hit the Girlie's.

Well only if they ask nicely and tell me how naughty they have been:eek::ko:

Hurrah, a girl who is happy to be female and not try to be some kind of psuedo-male.

In fact I think I might get in touch with my feminine side and buy myself a pink phone!! Now where did I put my sling backs:laugh:
