Hey I just had a question for everyone, right now am studying at Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, I have joined the kendo club and enjoying myself very much. However when it comes time to return home, I just thinking how are Austrlaian customs when it comes to Bogu, Shinai and Bokkuto?

You can either check it all in as luggage or carry bogu on the plane if youre paranoid of it going missing. Bokuto you wont be able to carry on the plane - check it in with your shinai and get them to put a fragile sticker on it.
When going through customs, call it sporting equipment/fighting sticks and you cant go wrong. Make sure you declare them.
Ive done that a few times now and it has been fine.
Welcome home by the way!! Where will you be training in Australia?

Hey thanks for the advice Alison. Well i won't come home until August, but when i do i will have to start looking for a good dojo near Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast. I will defiantly take it as cabin luggage because i still don' trust China Airlines after the last set of drama's i went through with them. Right now i am really enjoying kendo, my sensei is Kondo Keisuke 8th dan kendo, 7th iaido, so i feel a little over my head at times but i really love it. Anyway thanks once again for the tips.

Airlines do not like defiance in the cabin.
Or perhaps another typo and you meant "definitely" :alien:
