:down: Today was my first shinsa and I couldn't go to Kendo classes because I got hit just above the eye yesterday at school I got a big swollen bruise:( and the doc said I couldn't do kendo for about a week :down: and tomorow my dojo was going to do a kendo exibition :(

bad luck my friend, i had renal colic and i missed my test in iaido and kendo, and today i have another colic, so i missed classes today, i guess heath come first, just have to wait for your next shinsa

My doctor said I wasn't allowed to punch anyone for 4 weeks ater I got a cast off of my hand. It didn't matter how many times I explained what kendo was, he insisted I was not to punch or kick anyone. Then he told me he watched kendo on ESPN, and was impressed when they took swords and chopped through blocks of ice. I tried to explain kendo to him, one more time. It didn't seem to get through to him. Ummm...drunky...oh yeh...How did you get hit in the eye? Honestly, I can't imagine why getting hit in the eye would prevent you from doing kendo.

doctors tend not to screw around with head injuries of any sort.

Thats what I'm sayin'. If it is a head injury, I can see the caution. If you just got whacked to the general eye area, it seems a little silly to not do kendo (unless your eye is swollen shut or something).

yea my eye got swollen and I couldn't open it on saturday(shinsa day) but now its tueday and I am ready to go to class.

Yeah, this kinda thing really sucks. I jammed my thumb playing volleyball at my cousin's backyard bbq the week before the iaido national's, missed shinsa AND taikai. It's still not fully recover 8 months later. So I lock myself in a box for a week before any major events. :D

Tomorrow was to have been my first shinsa, but my company sent me away on a business trip for a week.
