Hey, I'm shopping for my first bogu set now, and I am looking at all the websites possible, and my budget is something at around $500, and less would be good, but I still want good quality to last me at least 4-5 years.
I found one bogu store and I was amazed by the their prices.

Can anyone help me evaluate the quality of this product, and is it a good buy? If not, I guess I'll stay with my original choice of the e-bogu 5/2.5.
The help is appreciated, thank you.

Hello,
I cannot judge the quality of the bogu itself, but I can first redirect you to another post: http://www.kendo-world.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15438&highlight=bogushop
and then say that I am quite happy with what I bought from the representant in Shanghai, which was keikogi+hakama, suburito, and other accesories...
Hope this was of some help.

My only dealing with Bogushop was for a Bogu Bag, price was too good to be true . . . had a nightmare with them forgetting to ship it which took a few emails to get sorted, in the end they refunded my payment and let me keep the bag . . . great customer service once they stepped up to the plate.
If your budget let you afford a 4mm or 3mm you would have something that would last longer, but you should be fine with a 5mm. Might be worth trying to upgrade your kote to something a bit better, will save the old wrist if you get an over eager wrsit basher.
