I learned this exercise this summer, and my senpai couldn't remember if it had a name or not. I love this exercise a lot, and I was wondering if it had a proper name.
Basically, there are two people involved. There is one armored person standing there just swinging men strikes. The second person is crouched down on the ground. The second person jumps up and meets the first person's shinai at the end of their men strike. After the second person's shinai connects with the first person's the second person brings their shinai around and hits a do before his feet touch the ground again. This is done at a rapid pace. It makes your thighs burn if thats any help. :silly:
If anybody can help me out, thank you! It's okay if you can't. ^_^

To be honest, I've never heard of this kind of exercise. Sounds like a paired off suburi, if anything :D

This is a combination of sonkyo-suburi and men-kaeshi-doh. It's an old style exercise, most people don't do it anymore because it's very hard on the knees. The standing version of this is still done, just have your partner swing men over and over again while you block and then hit doh on both left and right side.

The club where aru-ma trains does it quite often... (I try it once... sooooooo tiring... :| and yet soooooo confusing...) they called it sonkyo-kaeshi-do...
