I have been practicing kendo for a little under a year, and I am going to watch my second tournament in about a week. For the first tournament I went to I borrowed a video camera and taped some matches from people in my dojo (the kata, and some of the sensei matches as well :silly: ).

Anyways, I'm pretty rusty with a video camera, and I'm sure that my recording from last time weren't very good. I'm probably going to borrow the video camera again and record this tournament. Does anybody have any tips on a good way to record a match?

use a tripod, so you dont have to watch "nypdblue-kendo"

I don't know what kind of place the tournament will be at but most of the ones I have been to were at basketball courts with bleecher seats. If this is the case and you have a tripod, go to the top and zoom in. This way you won't have the shinpans blocking your shot.
