Sorry about the cross-post, but I didn't get a lot of response in the "training" section, sso I thought I'd post here. I tend to have sweaty hands, and to compound things, I'm only a month into Kendo. My tsuka-gawa gets very slippery during suburi, and sometimes I feel like I need to hold it too tightly for good technique just to keep it from flying out of my hands!
A yudansha at my dojo (I think he's Sandan,) thought it might be partially because of the cheap leather that came on my shinai. Do you all think that higher grade leather might help?
Thanks,
Los
