View Full Version : Jodo demo at 51st All Japan Kendo Champs
Good to see the ZNKR promoting seitei jodo with the demo during the break after the first round. None of my lecturers here at uni in Ichigaya have even heard of jo - have to show them when they accuse me of having shinai in my bag :). Was a bit odd in places though, some varied from the last seitei seminar in Australia, must have been more clarifications, or maybe their koryu was showing.

Jodo is probably one of most challenging and lethal budo emerged from Japan.
Although it is also "samurai" weapon, the number of practisioners is still the umber of iaidokas/kendokas divided by 2. Thatīs a pitty.
What school it was and what school do you practised?

Divided by two is an overestimate  - divided by somewhare between 10 and 100 I guess. They were demoing the 12 kata from the ZNKR seitei gata. I am a jodo beginner really - in Australia I practice seitei at the AKR annual iai/jo seminar, train occasionally with instructors from an SMR dojo and catch the odd seminar. Here in Tokyo I finally get to train once or twice a week with an SMR dojo.
