Looks like America is getting its own version of My Sassy Girl.
It looks really watered down compared to the original though....I didn't see a single punch thrown during the entire trailer.
However... they kept kendo.
Instead of flying and tsuki, they teach you how to disarm an opponent and score an ippon or ten while they are down. :D

I'm sure anyone unfortunate enough to see the original is already all cringed out.

just doesn't carry the same impact as the original.
the girl in the original really was scary and intimidating but at the same time something about her character made me become glued to her...not the same in the remake

I thought it was funny.
They showed regular kendo then a wacky version of it that no one will confuse with reality.
Actually I only cringe when they are in a serious scene and try to pass off a believable-but-still-ridiculous version of kendo as real. When they are excessive however, I just laugh at how stupid it is XD
I thought the new one was kinda funny though cause it was "silly" rather than "serious."

You know, I heard that at the beginning of the Kendo scene in the Korean version, the two Kenshi doing ai-kakarigeiko (do-himo untied :) ) were members of the Korean National Squad...from their skill I'd believe it. I wonder if they'll include that in the new one!

my sentiments exactly!
the original girl could go from drunk wasted scary, to pitiful, to cute, to goofy, to sad, to sexxy in one scene. brilliant actress.
but judging by the trailer this blonde girl seems to be kinda dull and with a narrow register... (cute though lol).
well, we'll def have to check it out and see the movie before we bash it (or praise it) rightfully! :D

hmm
this remake looks crap. haha
looks like hollywood is running out of ideas since they're turning towards asian films.
Ie; the Eye was originally a chinese movie which was labelled "Geen Gwai" which means "See ghosts".
and now this. -___-'"
the korean one was so good

I am not surprise that Hollywood adaptation of films just turn wine into water
A big NO-NO here.
They are planning a PROPER dramatisation of My Sassy Girl in Japan. Rena Tanaka is definately in it.
I will keep track of it and post once the subbed version came out.

i think at the very least, it will be an interesting contrast with the original and will highlight the conceptual difference between the "american" (western) mind set and the "korean" (eastern) mind set.
