Syracuse is really Central New York. The term Upstate NY is for NYC people who consider anything north of NYC to be Upstate NY.

Roninn: If you are way west of Syracuse, I'm pretty sure there is a Club in Buffalo. Yeah, now that I look, there are a few clubs outside of NYC listed at www.auskf.info (Buffalo, Schenectady, etc.). If you are near Syracuse, you can always come down to Ithaca and practice with us www.rso.cornell.edu/kendo.

If you are near the border, there are an endless supply of clubs in Canada...

Thanks Hai Hai...I actually live near Watertown which is upstate...so I do know what central NY is as well....Hey and thanks for the links people I will check things out!! I appreciate the replys!

There's definitely a kendo club in Buffalo and Rochester.
I believe there's one that meets at St. Lawrence University, which might be closer for you, if you're near Watertown.

I am from the Buffalo dojo and I know theres Rochester cause they are kind of an offshoot / sister club, as well as one in Cornell, and another in Albany, but I'm not aware of any in the Watertown area. Thats not to say one doesnt exist, I'm just saying there are none that I know of. Sorry...

Also, Is their any Kendoa/Students near Syracuse that will Teach (Most likely with pay of cource). Cuz Gas is Sooooooooo pricey these days ... Any responce is welcome ^_^

People in the CNY area, Your search for a dojo is finnaly at a end if you dont mind iaijutsu. I am now learning Tatsu-Do Iai-jutsu and for those who cannot find a dojo.... come on over!!

Sadly their is no kendo dojo's around CNY yet :-(
If anyone is thinking about opening a school try looking in the syracuse area, you'll probally get a large amount of students.
