Hi Guys,
In case anyone else is considering buying a carbon shinai I would recommend shopping aorund!.
Here are the prices I found (39DB):
e-bogu: 247.011 EUR
BoguZen: 183.668 EUR
Euguchi: 183.675 EUR
ChibaBogu: 169.497 EUR
Bu Jin: 215.343 EUR
Nine Circles: 188.262 EUR
Tozando: 169.199 EUR
There is a considerable difference between suppliers, Tozando won hands down with 25 EUR shipping (even adding the leather parts is very cheap on their store).
I hope this saves some of you a couple of hours comparing prices.
Please, don't turn this into a "why are you buying carbon shinai?" thread. This is just a plain daily training shinai, I am keeping bamoo for using when appropriate, just trying to save the cost of shipping/waiting of shinai. Plus this will allow me to keep my well-balanced, good quality bamboo shinai longer.

OK, how about "Why are you happy to inflict unnecessary pain and suffering on your training partners (cos that's what plastic shinai do) just to save a few quid you selfish git..." :(
Jorge - if you are breaking too many (bamboo) shinai then you need to:
a) Work on your tennouchi and kime. Look at the breakage points. Is there a pattern that could indicate why they bust?
b) Oil them regularly to stop them drying out (despite the, err how can I put this politely, "slightly moist" Irish climate).

:) I know you are not keen on Carbon. Honestly, is a money saving thing. In terms of breakeage I only go through about two and a half per year. The pattern is always the similar (if you hold the shinai in Kamae is on your left slat), which may indicate too much right hand.
It's been overzealous kirikaeshi by aite's that has broken my last two lovely shinai (in the space of two weeks). I am just finding very expensive to ship shinai to Ireland, plus the waiting for the new shinai to arrive kills me. I guess is a bit late, as I have already paid for it.....sh*t

Thats just weird... its usually the right for me and thats after I go to town on a few doh's!
Echo'ing what mike said, we all tend to hit to hard in Ireland anyway, if you have aite's that break your shinai then you are not solving the problem by getting a carbon cos they will continue to hit too hard and break the shinai of the person standing next to you. Also if you are breaking the shinai by your own power a carbon will just hide that!
Your being corrupted by danny :)
Anyway I reckon you know all that anyway Jorge, but delivery from korea with kendoshop aint that bad. I put in an order every month so give us a shout if you want something, and I'd say try to keep the carbon in your bag for emergency.
Nice Find btw, carbon shinai in kendoshop if $320 before delivery :)
