I think I remember hearing it will be divided into the 1-3 dan, and 4-above grade groups.
I think I remember hearing it will be divided into the 1-3 dan, and 4-above grade groups.
I went and got the low-down:
The ranks pertain to ranks as of Sept. 30, 2003 because the tournament had to be organized prior to the exam. (Which means I am in the Kyu). Everybody can only enter in one division.
The Divisions are as follows:
Boys/Girls 13-17, 4 Kyu and under
13-17, 3-1 Kyu
Women 13 & over, Kyu
Womens, Dan
Men/Adult 18 & over, Kyu and under
Men 1-3 Dan (last year there were age brackets but I guess not this year)
Men 4 Dan & Up (no round robin in this group)
All matches in the round robin are 3 minutes with no encho. The top two individuals from each block will advance to the tournament rounds. Kids' and women's tournament matches are 3 minutes. Men's are 4 minutes.
Entry fees are $10 for everybody 18 and over. Bento is $7. The party is $25.

hmmm we have entered ,
French kiss?
French Toast
French Fries
French Bread
French dip
French dressing
and lets not forget Frech Whores.........my personal favorite.
Whatever heard it all before, just hope there is nothing subliminal comming from you sempai.
PS kiki, what the @#$%%^ is a Kyu and under division, I have no special waza for the unders. I will have to consult super seceret waza master Kirukiru-san to develop special under waza.

Dude~!!!! That judging was shi@@y!! The SCKO needs to have a shinpan semenar before the tournament or they just need to find someone who knows how to judge!! They were taking points that didn't even touch the guy! Didn't even know how to do "wakare" or even give a "hansoku" call to one! My Ten year old kohai could even do better! My personal opinion, if your going to have a tournament, be ready for one!

Well, I had taiko practice that day, so I couldn't participate. Well, that and I knew there would have been alot of questionable judging at this tournament, along with hantei, which I HATE.
