This is for all those times when you have to negotiate your way out of a social commitment or reduce the amount of face time at such things in order to head off to training because of an upcoming tournament or grading. And it's gotten to the point where if you do miss one training session it's obvious.

I've noticed something too. There are many ways that people will state "You're Doing Too Much Kendo?"

The list seems endless.

Here's a few to start off with...

"All you do is kendo."

"We're getting together on the weekend. This shouldn't clash with your kendo training right?"

"Is there any night when you're not training?"

"Can't you miss one training session?"

If I had a dime for every time my girlfriend used one of those lines.......

My wife would wonder where all those dimes came from . . .
Eventually they'll get used to it . . .

I had that lots of times
a good answer is: "well, you know that kendo is part of the person I am..." that phrase says a lot.

My worst one from the mrs was "can I make an appointment to see you..."

My answer of "I can fit you in next thursday as our dojo has been taken over for some crappy thing by the vice principle" didn't seem to win many brownie points...
I now have a cunning plan. I go to the USA by myself and train every day without family commitments causing interference as she is staying here to play with the grandkids. Brilliant!!
