Hi everyone,

I was wondering if (all or some of) you wouldn't mind taking a 1 minute survey from Imafuji-sensei's website. >>

http://www.kendo-guide.com/kendo-general-survey.html

Thank you,

Think there's a glitch. I put my length of study as 1~3 years but the results showed it as 3~5.

Anything for Imafuji-Sensei

hmm I'm not sure if the graph is working correctly: I choose 1-3 years and on the graph it says 0x chosen.

Done. What's it for? Are the statistic going to be used for something?

Done.

How are you involved in this, Masahiro? Just being nosy...

i get a free meal for every survey that gets filled out. . . . . NOT!!! I wish that was the case. hahahaha, :p

hey Cesare, to answer your question~
I am not "directly" involved or affiliated with Imafuji sensei's website or video lessons at all. I had read about him and his "cyberdojo" prior to meeting him in person several times. I share his passion for helping others with their progress in kendo. But (of course) I am no where as qualified. Thus, this is my way of contributing to his noble cause. Aside from KW (indispensable), Kenshi247 (unique, and insightful), and my own notes, there's really very little kendo literature available in English.

@ SDK~ I am not sure whether the statistics are going to be utilized for some sort of research, maybe just for his personal reference? Ask Imafuji sensei, go ahead. He wont bite.

thank you guys once again for taking the time to answer the survey, *SDK, Cesare* and everyone else who took it.

You have Japanese and I have Korean sources but, as you said, English sources are pretty thin on the ground. Imafuji Sensei definitely does the community a service by taking the time to do what he does.

As my sensei says, reading about kendo is good if you are unable to get to the dojo and it opens up the mind to possibilities and new ideas. Having said that, he always says that my time might be better served by doing 1000 perfect men cuts every day. Last time he was checking on me, I think I got about 20 out of a 1000 cuts that he said were acceptable...

you are right, but I've gotta be honest with ya Cesare, my experience with Japanese sources are like this

1)sometimes the concept is too "deep" to immediately apply, quite often the Japanese kendo articles are related to abstract concepts.

2)I could potentially buy all the Japanese Kendo books that's ever been written, but it's not something feasible at this point for me.

which is why i sometimes enjoy the English materials, they tend to be more. . . "plain", such as "we did this drill, this drill" and "don't do this, but do this". hahahha.

just my trivial thoughts.
