I have to admit, I watched the whole thing just wishing for an accident to happen. :devious:

Does that make me a bad person?

A classic example of "backyard" :-).

I think Trip Fisk (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_RpbaUU7NI&feature=related) needs to teach these guys a lesson or two.

Definately Darwin awards.

I hope their parents realise how stupid they were when one of those two loses a major body part.

does that make this a second generation Darwin award because it's the parents fault?

Re: ninjery

You have been lax in your duties regarding punishing those who treat sharp objects with respect and care.
Please note that further negligence will result in the disproving of your theory, and the further disruption of evolution.
May I remind you that it is your job to ensure those that do not measure up to average human intelligence never make it to reproductive age.
Please ensure those who continue to play with swords without taking necessary precautions are punished, or your post will be terminated.

thank you

Apparently its not bad enough there to warrant banning swords yet.

Okay, normally I do not go near these kind of posts, but here goes.

As a kid in grade school and into junior high:

Long bayonet, check.
Machete, check.
Hacking anything and everything in sight, check.
BB gun, check.
22 caliber rifle, check.
A short stint checking the properties of gasoline, check.
Hairspray blowtorch, check.
Minibike and motorcycle, check.
Fireworks blowing things up, check.
And who knows what else.

All body parts intact, priceless.

Sorry, this just does not concern or excite me much.

...all good stuff...

And who knows what else.Model rockets in horizontal flight that may or may not have included "warheads", Oxy-Acetylene gas in the Edmund Scientific weather balloons, poaching bass with the police chiefs' son, a ticket for speeding on a skateboard, endless excursions in the back of a (gasp!) pickup truck - how did we survive it?

On second thought, don't bash the kids, ninjers, backyard samurai, samurang, or other idiots!
I have a plan for them to become valued members of society.

Punishment for grand (felony) theft:
First offense: One hand hacked off by wallhanger
Second offense: Second hand hacked off by wallhanger

Punishment for rape:
First offense: One testicle hacked off by wallhanger
Second offense: Any remaining genitles removed by wallhanger

Punishment for murder
First offense: Eye removed with 5 dollar "ninja sword"
Second offense: what do you think?

All punishment shall be conducted in person's own back yard by either a mcdojo owner or confirmed "ninjer" between the ages of 10 and 15.

I tell you, prisons will be empty pretty quick, and taxes will be lower because of it.

We have England to thank for that. If it wasn't for them being all mean to us and stuff 300 years ago, then we probably wouldn't have had the constitutional right to bear arms. That is, as long as you didn't break the law and mentally sound, you can have a weapon. Since it's a katana, it really doesn't matter the age of the person who has it :).

Yeah I know what you mean.

But, and it is a big one: Being a reformed military BRAT and having spent my formative years in an enviroment that "encouraged" preparation for a future need of martial skills. Toying with firearms, incendiary- and explosive media, as well as playing wargames with slingshots and bb-guns was everyday activity. Needless to say it was usually unsupervised and we would get grounded or smacked around ears from time to time when we were caught doing something stupid or dangerous (usually both).
Nowadays when I look back I feel that we were pretty lucky that only one of my friends lost any significant bodyparts. An explosion took 3 fingers of his right hand and he lost most of the mobility of that hand. There is a significant risk with stuff like this even if one allready has driverslicense and whiskers.

With my experience when it comes to kids activities: if it's potentially lethal, it must be supervised. Right?

I think I'll give Michael Moore a call. He'll be excited to get a head start on his next documentary portrayal of yet another Junior High School Massacre in the states.

Those videos are surely the prequel.
