I think it's possible to disarm anyone, but it's not really something you do on purpose or at least that you try to do on purpose. The goal is to strike the opponent and not disarm them, although it does look neat when it happens. Although usually it happens because the other guy wasn't careful and just lost his grip from a mentally sleepy moment.

I think he means if there's a standard way of getting a jodan player to drop his shinai. Kinda like maki-o-toshi (I think that's what it's called) can be used to disarm someone from chudan.

Either that that or he's talking about amputating jodans...

I suppose the best moment is when a jodan is doing katate-anything, but I can't think of any specifics.

Try going a round with Kimura-sensei of Toronto Kendo Club without losing your shinai. He came to a seminar in Calgary a few years ago and there were more shinai clattering on the floor than I care to count...

For jodan, I wouldn't worry about it. You have an opportunity if they swing katate-men and miss, but you're better off taking that chance and hitting men or something.

oh. well then. One way of doing that is, when the jyodan player is about to hit from kamae. Do tsuki into the bottom of the shinai. (they let go of the right hand so ) Its hard but when it happens. its pretty nice.

Thanks for reply.If the jodan misses any katate thing,and you hit his/her shinai instead of hitting men ,kote etc he/she ll totally loose control of the weapon,then you can hit with a huge technique depends on speed.Anyway it will be a speed contest.So I am asking if are there any simple waza for make it quicker and easier
