Kendo World Magazine

Not sure if this was already discussed or if this is the place to do it but here goes: I was wondering what the feedback is on the magazine, the fact that I live in Canada with shipping and exchange rate its works out to about $35 per magazine. Is it worth it? Does any fellow Canadian Kendoists subscribe to it, any feedback would be great.

You can see the article quality on some of Download articles available. I received from Issue 1.2, but do not have the first issue. The magazine is very cheap but the sending postage is sometimes expensive for some countries. But the magazine is top class and my foreign kendo friends all want more. Is that $35 Canada dollars? The exchange rate is crazy now, so I don't know what that is. For me in Japan it is not seem expensive though.

yes with exchange and shipping its about $35 per issue or $70 per year

Perhaps you could look at it this way. It's the only magazine where you can get quality articles on kendo (and iaido, jukendo, naginata, koryu, etc) in English. It's a small publication created for a tiny market, that means the price is going to be higher than a copy of "People" or some generic MA mag. And much of the information in it is timeless (translations of articles by 8-dan and 9-dan sensei), so it's something you'll hang on to and keep going back to.

Yes it's worth it, if you're serious about kendo.

You should receive the first magazine within 2 weeks after your order.
