I know what you mean...i was kinda stunned at first, didn't realise that it would be so cool and well...full on! As i mentioned in my other post i thought the most amazing bit was how you adopted a completely different behavioural aspect when you walked into the dojo which i thought was awesome...it really adds to the atmosphere of the whole place and experience. I am definately going to start it, but i'm going to have to save up for everything though...

I am definately going to start it, but i'm going to have to save up for everything though...

yeah i know...ive also got to see where i will be living next year...might be miles away from a dojo...so far the only ones ive found are in Melb or Ballarat..

Maybe i might end up a bit closer

but yeah totally awsome...you will find most martial arts that follow traditional arts are similar. Its a follow on from traditional samurai culture. Well at least Aikido was similar.

Cheers..might see you round again

oh and xvikingx, thanks for the post.

Yea i just had my first Kendo Practise yesterday. It was amazing it was everything i thouhgt it would be. I got my Shinai that night. and ill be getting my Keiko-gi and Hakama after Christmas. My Sensei is so cool! Hes not one of the "Imortal" Sensei who when you do somthing wrong you get Executed on the spot (lol). Our rule is there are no mistakes. Even tho i dont have Bogu like 2 others in my class. (We get to drill on a tire dummy, which is actualy alot of fun to a point). It is still fun and just....GREAT!!! lol. Its realy totaly worth it. The money that I will spend is nothing compared to what im getting out of this. All i can say to all the New students out there, Stay with it, dont quit. If its hard keep at it untill you conquer it.
ok im done lol, Have a good week end everyone

Well ive started saving up...got a tin for all my loose change.....shinai isn't much of a worry..not that expensive..its when i get around to buying a bogu that i'll need the cash 9 and yes i know tghat is a long way off yet). Still, can't wait to start..i even loaned a book with basic knowlegde/history etc. already learned basic stance and how to hold the shinai...(and yes i probablr have a few thongs wrong but its the best i can do with out a Sensei standeng beside me.)
