Is anyone familiar with the Kinokuniya web site that sells tenuguis? I was wondering if anyone has tried to order from them. And if anyone knows any other places to buy nice tenugui, as a gift.

I'm not familiar with that site but there's :
http://wuhaonyc.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=0
for nice but not inexpensive tenugui.

And also:
http://www.jun-gifts.com/specialcollections/tenuguitowel/tenuguitowel.htm

I have no personal experience with either site though.

I've bought from both websites without much of a problem. One of them is kind of weird as I remember. Something like they send you a conformation email which has a link to a payment site but I assumed this normal and had no problems with the transaction. Both have a good selection.

I've never bought tenugui from Kinokuniya but I have bought other things from them and have never had a problem with them.

I haven't bought any tenugui. I usually get other equipments at e-mudo.com
It has some tenugui selections, but I'm not too interested in tenuguis so don't know about the details. Only one I remember is the blue one with sake bottles...because it was just odd.

Teriyaki, I´ve bought from Kinokuniya and the tenuguis are great. Saw some of them on kendo web stores for triple the price. They are cheap and nice. Best tenuguis I´ve got! namiura fuji order No.5204 model is a must have!

Thanx Scharnhorst,
but did the shipping cost an arm and a leg?

What were you looking for? I have done custom tenugui orders and shipped them to the states for people. It isn't my job by any means, but living here in Japan I have the contacts, and there is a place that makes them 5 minutes away from my office.
