Stupid question about Avatar on this forum

This may be a stupid question and if I offend someone please forgive me, but how do you attach your own picture for an avar instead of the predefined one? I’ve tried on Mozilla or Internet Explorer but I can seem to find way to do it. Any help please? I’m not a computer expert or something and do feel really stupid about asking this so no flames please.
Or is some kind of ritual, you have to find for yourself in order to have a special avatar :cool:

I think it's in the FAQ... possibly something about you have to have a certain number of posts before you can do a custom avatar..
