Police-Style Men?

Anyone seen this type of men before?

I came across it on Chiba Bogu web site. It says "The helmet employed in Japanese Police arresting-system training."

Only 11,000 yen.

Aside from the color, it looks like it has wrestling-type ear protectors. Other than that, I can't tell how this would hold up for kendo.

It wouldn't. It provides enough protection for the arresting techniques thing (I forgot what that is called) but would absolutely be too soft for kendo. The full kit includes kote like gloves and a do/tare combo similar to shorinji kenpo. The equipment resembles kendogu but if you saw it in person it's quite different.

I've seen the white shoes they wear but not the shin pads. That said I've never actually seen it done just the bogu sitting out to dry afterward.
