I have only watched the first tape so far and not all of it. The video is good quality, a few camera shakes here and there. The only problem I have is that one match will begin and sometimes they go to another so you do not see the conclusion or the winner.

Do you know of any other places that are offering videos? I'm really interested in watching, but not if the coverage is poor. I'd probably get mad at all the money I've spent on it if I can't even get through the matches. :p
I'd love to hear more about how the quality and such is. I hope you're enjoying it!
I think the next issue of Kendo World Magazine is supposed to have some coverage on a CD... can't wait for the next issue!

The only problem I have is that one match will begin and sometimes they go to another so you do not see the conclusion or the winner. I bought an 11th WKC video from e-bogu a long time ago. It was a completely amateur production; shot from a handcam held by someone in the audience. It was advertised as a non-professional production, so I couldn't complaint. Nevertheless, it was very annoying that it kept switching from one court to the other, and you ended up missing everything on both courts. I can't believe they are still putting videos like that 3 years later.

If the quality is such that it is described, I certainly don't want to shell out that big fat amount of money for a video that's shot so poorly.
Are there any more professionally done videos out there? Say, from Japan or anything? Only bad thing is that I don't speak/read Japanese.

Here is a comment who bought All Japan Tozai video several years ago.
(quoted from my kendo page www.isenokami.com (http://www.isenokami.com) )
I recently purchased the 45th All Japan Eastern vs.
Western Kendo Championship '99 video through All Japan
Kendo Federation. Unlike other well-known competition
such as All Japan Kendo Championship where the
competition is based on elimination format, Eastern
vs. Western Championship is more like team competition
Also, in Eastern vs. Western tournament, one has
opportunity to watch kendo players of different levels
of dan. It appears that same or similar level dan
players from each sides are matched to compete.
Accordingly, competing players tend to be of similar
age, ranging from early 30's to late 60's. This tape
contains competitions of kendo players ranging from
6th dan to 8th dan of various levels. Although I do
not speak Japanese (the one I purchased was in
Japanese), one of my friend tells me that masters from
famous kendo schools compete in this tournament. This
tape also contains a match of Masahiro Miyazaki who
recently won back to back championships at All Japan
Kendo Championship.
The tape is approximately 90 minutes long with clear
color picture and includes slow motion replays after
each points. At the start of each match, there are
detailed information about each players such as how
many times the player competed previously, age, dan
level, etc. Between each match, the tape shows
highlights of matches that did not make it to the
video. All in all, I thought the tape was excellent
material for watching and learning, especially since
it shows kendo players with varied levels of dan. I
hope All Japan Kendo Federation will continue to make
this tournament as well as other competitions
available at their website. Anyone who is studying
this great art form and sports will be able to enjoy
the tape tremendously.

It looks like the sell worldwide, but it looks difficult to attain, as they only provide a fax number, and I don't know any Japanese. I wish there was some way to get them, as I'd probably buy the whole lot of videos!
