Recently, iv been reading martial arts books and getting the mind set for kendo. I want to have a more useable in modern day but also want to stick with kendo. My sensei says I have a great potential for judo and encourages me to join judo (which he also instructs). Other sempai in the dojo though say that you should only practice on martial art at a time because it can get confusing. Do you think that it would be alright if I practiced judo along with kendo, or do you think that I need to drop the judo idea for a while?

I do iaido kendo and shotokan karate all at the same dojo. I think that it is great and will help me to be a well rounded person. If your schedule and life permits I say go for it.

I agree with Andre; if you have the time and the motivation, go for it.

The problem that your sempai allude to is doing two similar arts. Kendo and Iaido can be a problem together; Iaido and Aiki-ken are a definite problem together. But Judo and Kendo are just so different that I would not worry about confusing them.
