Lets say there is a kata shiai right now, and....

pair one has flawless kata but the pair do not have matching uniform

and pair two have ok kata but do have matching uniform.

Who should win?

Kata is simulated combat with imaginary opponants. Would it matter to you if your companion had a matching outfit with yours or a flawless technique?

I think you might be a little confused as to what kendo kata is.

If its about kata, then the uniform shouldn't matter, unless your uniform is really ratty and your wearing of it is sloppy, but just the fact that the uniforms aren't matching shouldn't be the deciding point if the kata is obviously better. It may be the deciding point if all else is equal, however.
