Naginata in Kyoto

One of my students is currently staying in Kyoto. Can anyone on this list recommend a really good naginata-club there? Thanks!

How long will he stay in Kyoto.
Beware, that it is not easy to enter a naginata club in Japan, without being introduced by someone. In 1997 I wanted to train in Kyoto, and the answer I received at that time is that there is a club, but they accept only women.
But on beside of this I was able to buy a bogu in Kyoto.

My sensei had told me a similar story about a dojo in Kyoto. Hopefully things have changed since then. If not, Kyoto is rather close to Osaka and Hyougo prefecture, so I am sure your student will be able to find a dojo somewhere.

Well, she will be staying for about a year and I do not think there will be any problem with clubs only accepting women. ;)

anyway Jackob, why don't you ask INF directly, don't you have the email of a sensei there who may help ( I can eventually provide you one) but not on this forum, of course.
The best would have been to ask Kondo san, who would ask to someone in Japan... before leaving...
