Can anyone explain what all those waza and stance you
guys mentioned are? Like the meaning and procedures. I've
never tooken kendo but I plan to, you see I have a friend, I
declared him my rival the other day and He is going to start
kendo lessons in May. I don't want the lessons to be his edge
so I'll find one faster. But until then, help me out with these
drills.(I just know overhead suburi).

Waza means the techniques you use to strike at the opponent. It could be single strikes or two strikes, blocking the opponent's shinai before you strike, avoiding his strike, .....
There are 5 different stances (6 if you count the two types of jodan), the most common stance is chudan no kamae. Jodan no kamae is used too, but not that much.
I don't know if the other stances are used (except for the kata, off course).
