they are to be a gift
i know people in japan that could get them
and indeed i hope to travel there next year myself
but getting them off the web should be easier
or if i could order via the catalogue, if i could find a way of getting that
japanish page is all in forrin ;)

A search for "nobakama meirin" found absolutely nothing. If you're thinking of recent forum threads, there was this thread (http://www.kendo-world.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1512) on nobakama (where I got the link) and then there was one I made about my iaito, which was revealed to be a Meirin.
