There is a style of iaido that uses no-dachi, but nothing in kendo so far as I'm aware

kendo shinai size is regulated
hence u can't have anything longer than 39 cm.
this is partly the reason no body hides the shinai behind their back,
lol. (the behind the back kamae is to hide the sword from enemy's view so he can't judge distance)

The number 39 does not mean its 39 cm. 39 cm is actualy very very small. Just to let you know :) And you could use that stance to throw there Maai off, i mean try keeping one step Maai when you cant see there Shinai properly :)

The iaido style is called Choken Battoujutsu Kageryu and limited information can be found here (with some pictures of the longsword in situ in the practitioner's obi)http://www.bunbun.ne.jp/~sword/Nkage1.html

not very informative, but...^_^
also, check www.weaponmasters.com (http://www.weaponmasters.com) for a nice (alleged) Masamune odachi/nodachi/whatever you wish to call it. (click on the 5th picture along in the second row down to view the info)

Hope this is somewhat useful

When searching the forums yesterday, I found an interesting thread related to this one...search for 'no-dachi' and when the results come up view the one at the bottom of the list (there should be like 5 or so) called something like 'bigger swords' (sorry; I cant exactly remember ^_^)
On there it had a lot of interesting links and other information, alternatively I suggest you contact Hyaku, who is definitely the man to ask, from what I gather. Again, I hope this is useful to some degree.
