During Waza is the Sageo tied to the Obi or does in hang lose. I know what you do with it before in Teito,Shirei,Torei but not once you start Waza.

the most common is to tie the obi to the hakama-bands, just in front of your right hip. Some ryu let the sageo take a round behind the saya first, some dont. The most important then is that the loop in front of you, is not so big that there will be any chance of accidently getting your knee in it, when you go up from seiza.
some ryu just throw the sageo behind the saya, and let it hang. there are few absolutes
