Hi John,

Please refer to my reply to your post in the North/South Tournament thread.

In general, your dojo, namely your sensei / head instructor, would arrange for you to compete in any upcoming tournament. Your preparation and training will also play a major role in your choice to participate in a tournament when asked.

Again, I would talk to your sensei / head instructor and senior students on tournament participation. Other kendoka within this forum will no doubt give you more advice.
