first of all, I want to greet everyone present, since I'm new here. Hi!
Now to the stuff I wanted to ask. I started to train Iaido and Kendo. In Iaido, we learnt two katas. I'm not sure bout the names, but one sounded like "Tachimae" and the other like "Seiteigata" or something. I'm even less sure about the second, but that's not the point. I wondered if there's a website that has descriptions of as many katas as possible, if possible with pictures or perhaps even movie clips availible for download. I know I shouldn't rush things, but I just enjoy doing new katas, learning them and trying to figure out the moves as good as possible by myself (to get corrected later by our sensei). Anyways, if you know of any websites, please name them.
Secondly, as mentioned I really enjoy doing katas. Especially with some music (preferrably japanese - I love their sounds) that would fit in. I mean, not some punk but something that relaxes you. Something like you'd see in samurai movies when someone is training. I guess you know what I mean better. If you know any good songs, perhaps whole albums, please name the artist and/or song/album name.
And now a question unconnected (mostly) with iaido. I was watching the Last Samurai movie a few days back. I also played Shogun Total War a lot (too much according to my mom :P). There were two battlecries(?) present. One sounded like "Anate" and was used as a command to release arrows. The other was something like "Ikide" and was shouted when the cavalery charged. I'd like to know what they mean if possible.
Thanks to all, domo arigato gozeimashita (spelled correctly?)
