Once again, I say its up to the situation. 9 times out of 10 though, I would choose a firearm of somesort. Maybe a rocket launcher if the distance is given. Lol. But in what reality are you ever going to play with that stuff? I personally dont expect to get mugged with a wakizashi anytime soon. Then again, some of my sempai look at me funny- lol-jk

This model is quite good. Easy to carry, easy to hide, easy to disguise. I got a few at home, just in case when someone climb over the windows at night...

My weapon is the Holy Handgrenade of Antioch.

It's the blessed weapon of all good Grail seakers...
It's excellent for blowing Thine ennemies to tiny bits, in Thy mercy. Amen.

I'm working on my adeptness with the Tai Chi sword currently.

Waxwood? Did you train in Songham or traditional taekwondo? I know they borrow alot of Wushu weaponry in Songham.

mystic_kendoka
30th January 2004, 04:50 AM
i did taekwondo for some years, but the spear has nothing to do with taekwondo...

i went to a dojo in inchon, korea... it was wushu i think.. everyone called it kungfu because wushu is not very commonly known, but my father says its wushu... (my cousin is a 19year old 3rd dan... im soo proud of him :> )

it was a about 2m long straight poled spear, with a long straight blade about 40cm long, it had a rounded tip... thats all i can say..

Is the Nunchaku a traditional weapon in Kendo or does it belong to Kung Fu? Im looking for an appealing marshal art to adopt, the idea of hurting myself regularly for simple masculing pride is becoming more intriguing as Im getting older.:paranoid: Ive spoken to a few people and they recomended Kendo?

mystic_kendoka
10th December 2005, 03:14 AM
1. The nunchaku are NEVER used in kendo.
2. The term nunchaku is the name for the japanese 'flail', kung fu is a chinese martial art.
3. The nunchaku (along with the bo, sai, tonfa and kama) are commonly used in kobudo, if you're interested in using 'cool' weapons like that, kobudo might be more your thing than kendo.

Have a nice day :)

You know the samurai made an art and kata for almost all weapons they carried. If you make a kata for your martial art and send it to use you might get a prize and it shown on Japanese TV and you will receive your art soke certificate.

Worms’s sheep jutsu

1) Start with sheep in hands both uchi dachi and shidachi sit on there sheep and bow.

2) Uchidachi with sheep on back takes five steps and sheep jumps to attack shidachis men.

3) Uchidachis sheep kiais the sound (baa) and jumps on shidashi.

4) Shidachi side steps and sheep uchidachis men.

5) Uchidashi releases his sheep and exploades on defenseless Uchidachi.

Seriously who actually does practice another weapons art other than the kendo renmei arts with kendo? I know the nunchaku suburi and learned jodo for a with aikido. What is bodo?

shinai for regular kendo practice,
bokken for kendo-kata.

wouldn't really recommend to try and use any kind of weapon without proper instruction, you'll only end up hurt/dismembered/etc.

After my army period I did some Aikido (only for a short while) and again used my hands and my enemies energy :P and now I use the devine Shinai (finally)
