View Full Version : Real Naginatas?

I have been searching the web for online shops which might sell real Naginatas for collection or practice, but with no luck. The only polearms I've been able to find were cheapo €30 replicas on eBay, that I really doubt are of any quality... :disapp:
Can someone please give me a link or two (and suggestions) regarding a possible venture in buying a quality (circa €500, max €1000) Japanese Naginata? I am more interested in the superb properties of the blade than ornaments and lacquered grips. I praise weight, cutting, and balance more than appearance so I guess I'm interested in a good quality replica, if anything. :jaguar:
Thank you in advance,
Constantine.
PS. I hope this was the right forum section...

You can find the naginata at the bottom of the page, in the Iaito section.

You can find the naginata at the bottom of the page, in the Iaito section. It's a good starting point, thanks. Also the prices are high, most probably confirming products of high quality and craftmanship. Only negative the pics are too small to appreciate the products. Perhaps I'll have to drop the a mail.
Any more links?

I guess you will have to spend about €2000 for authentic pre 1900 ones.

I think you can get a good one from Paul Chen (hanwei forgerie). They are hand forged and come for a decent price (like the katana's). You can find them on Ebay quite often (or normal internetshop, they tend to be more expensive)
