Hello!

I'd like to ask for a favour: Could you post the weight of your men (incl. himo) please?
I couldn't find any information on the weight of (modern) bogu-parts on the internet and I'd like to know if there are big differences between models/brands.
My men is handmade and has a steel mengane, size is more or less regular (I'm 1,80m 85kg). The weight is 1850g.

Cheers,
Marc.

Steel mengane, machine made, very budget set. Just over 2kg. I also have a large head so that would push the weight up a bit

Obviously I run a web-site which sells Bogu, so I will try not to plug it too much, but basically, my 'best' Bogu is the Tokuren from Miyako Kendogu, and the Men weights about 1450g, thanks to the IBB Dura-Pro Mengane. However we have just developed a new men which is averaging around 1350g, whilst still retaining 100% safety, thanks to modern materials.

I have a heavier one which I use for everyday keiko, which is probably nearer 1600g which has a full Titanium Mengane... Couldn't imagine using one that was 1850g though...

The thing is, it is difficult to state a 'true' average, as there are literally so many variables - materials, Mengane and of course size...

Anyway, hope that helps...

My e-bogu 4mm Duraluminium mengane (http://www.e-bogu.com/Top_Quality_4_mm_Machine_Stitched_Men_p/ank-ken-bog-tq42men-.htm)Men 70cm HS + himo = 1569g.

No issues at all with the weight, the same which can't be said of my kendo.
