I'm afraid I can't tell you where exactly, because we did not received more details from the French Naginata Federation. The people to contact are Cecile Hamot or Simone Charton. Be carefull not to contact anybody else, because as you know, there is still some tension between the two French Federation.
As soon as I have more details I'll send them to you here. I'm in Hong Kong for the moment so it's a little difficult to get all the details right away.

I've just came back from a week seminar of Naginata gived by 4 excellent Japanese senseis.
But first I have to talk a little about the European Championship:
mingshi is a brilliant girl because the French had to change the place where the Championship happens at the last minute because of a strike. And I still don't understand how she manage to find us.
Anyway the Championship was really interesting, members from France, Belgium, Csech Republic, Netherlands, Italy and Sweden were there tocompete. Even a New Zealand practiser was there for the Goodwill tournament.
The Engi championship was really interesting, we had to do the 1st, 5th and 6th katas. France won this tournament, here are the results:

1st : Catherine Parisis - Sylvie Merieult (France)
2nd : David D'hose - Tyl Dermine (Belgium)
3rd : Philibert Vandersleyen - Charlotte Vandersleyen (Belgium)

The next Tournament was the Individual, and I succeed to reach the final and encoutered Jonathan, my brother there. The interesting point is that the Japanese have change the rules concerning Final. If nobody win after 3 minutes, the following encho can only end on a point of one of the two fighters, no juje decision (hantei). And as Jonathan and I are use to fight together he need 17 minutes to beat me...:D Here are the results :

1st : Jonathan D'hose (Belgium)
2nd : David D'hose (Belgium)
3rd : Tyl Dermine (Belgium)

After this we had the Team tournament which unfortunately was only possible for 3 countrys because the team were made of 5 fighters. Here are the results:

1st : FRANCE
2nd : BELGIUM
3rd : THE NETHERLANDS

and this closed the European Championship I'll give you the Goodwill results as soon as I remember them, in the meantime why don't you have a look to this page updated by French team members : http://kendo.bushindo.free.fr/naginata.htm

Quality, ai! In a few hours I have learned a lot. Thank you for the information. If there's another seminar in the future (and if I'm avaliable), I'd like to go so please tell me too.

I was quite suprised that with zero French I managed to find my way there... There was a note (in French) sticking at the closed gate of the original venue.

But I missed the Engi part and half of the individuals.

It's actually the first time I see judges deciding who's the winner after a drawed Encho... Because Kendo matches we had in UK, are mostly in Sudden-death style...The final for the individual is really long adn exhausting, but it's still very exciting to me (Someone with a bleeding toe still won!!).

I wonder why the Belgium supporters out-numbered the French in the spectator stand? There's a lot of team spirit from both sides ...and the cheering during the matches went a bit mad  (Didn't understand any French at all)

So much fun!! There's a French girl missing but I met most of the Holland people from the last seminar in the summer. And of course Alice Graham was there which can be quite entertaining :)

(Excuse me David for not saying bye because I left in a hurry and can't find you on my way....)

Congratulations David!
And congratulations to mingshi on finding the event location too. :)

Interesting to hear about the cheering. Especially if it was the Belgian support that was really loud! Maybe it was a plan to make the French team a little shocked and off guard? :)
