1- you shouldnt be doing this with full contact and no protection
2- you should be doing this at all with a heart condition
3- if you dont know how to do it right I suggest going to a dojo if you arent

although.. I.. can see how people fight with no armor.. .I really wish I had a daito and somebody to train against with it full contact no armor.. that would be fun... lol i wouldnbt care much for the pain.

You can't learn it in one class, Find a dojo. If you tell us where you are, we can help you find a Kendo dojo. You can't learn from books, either.

I find that books are okay, and training outside of a dojo is okay but remember this word reinforcement..helps to add to what you learned, like as a reference.

Do you really use bokken in fullcontact? Who told you to do so or where did you read that? Please donīt donīt hit each other with a bokken, you can seriously injure yourself or your partner, espacially when unexperienced! A bokken is not a toy.

Next point: I donīt think, one can learn kendo or any other martial art from a book. Please look for a club near you and take classes. A teacher will always give you valuable advice and make corrections. Also, he is able to see mistakes in your technique, where you are not able to see them.

In the beginning you will have to struggle a lot, to deliver a straight men strike. It looks so easy and is sooo damn hard to do. If you are serious with your kendo training, maybe you should concentrate on the very basic stuff like footwork and doing suburi. (I find doing suburi a lot of fun and there is always something new to discover and so much to learn...)

I am also a newbie and startet kendo last month, so I guess you might have similar problems like I have...just a thought...;-)

Have fun with kendo.
