There is a Kendo dojo in Manila. What Province is Baguio City in? Is it on Cebu? I need to know, because I heard something about a possible Kendo dojo in a city that sounded awful like that city in Cebu. And, I can check it out to see if it's legit, if that is true. I know somebody there who can give me the info.

Yeah the Manila Kendo Club trains in the Makati Sports Centre...although chances are you won't drive 10hrs one way to Manila! It's possible there might be a dojo in Baguio. Baguio is a really nice city still in Luzon, north of Manila.

Hi,
I've been to Baguio once, almost ten years ago. Very nice city and great weather, as opposed to everywhere else on the island(s). Don't know of any kendo dojo up there though.

Baguio is nowhere near cebu. Actually, they or separate islands. Cebu is located in the central part of the country on its own island while Baguio is North of Manila and can be reached in a few hours by bus. Which city are you relocating to for a while? I lived in Cebu before coming to the US to attend college in 1995.

have no fear, munenmuso is here. the manila kendo club is the only club in the philippines. there are about 200 members and about 50 members or more practicing every session. yamanishi sensei is the headmaster he is a 7dan renshi and been practicing more than 40 years now. there are also four other Japanese sensei who are 5dan and above. every year we are visited by several hachidans from the ajkf and the japanese maritime with their submarine. practice is conducted twice a week and you only pay less than $10 a month. if you want to know the exact location just check my personal profile and the website there. I've been a member since 1999 but im not active for several months now. see you there sometimes hope this helps.

There is also another place of practise called ARJUKEN somwhere in Quiapo, they practise Arnis(filipino fencing art),jujitsu and kendo.......thus AR-JU-KEN. But they focus more on Arnis. For the northerners be ready to practise kendo in a very hot and humid environment,if you plan to visit the said kendo club/s in the Philippines! Hope that helps!

woah, you don't have any idea how hot it gets here in the north especially during the summer. a lot of people get heat strokes in here. i've lived in the philippines for 15 years. that's 13 years at davao and 2 years at cebu. cebu is a better place than manila but baguio is way cooler, in terms of weather. i've heard stories that there are head hunters at baguio. a native tribe that cuts people's heads to prove that they are already a man. this happens once in a full moon only and it's also very rare.
if you're moving to baguio, i think it takes a couple of hours to reach makati. isn't baguio near the mountain provinces? i'm not so sure, cause i've been to luzon 4 times only and none of those were at manila, well maybe once.

~taganahanI've been to several northern countries but not Canada for the moment though, been in France when that abnormal heatwave hit last year too!(was really hot!) Lots of frenchies really wasnt used to it and also suffered in heat strokes and several other maladies, but I meant to say not just hot but humid very humid environment..its one thing to be hot its another to be hot and humid not to mention very humid....,though I didnt know it gets that hot in Canada too, since I've always thought that Canada would be one of thee most coldest places, thanks for the enlightment(no sarcasm intended)! And on about Baguio,it is 'in' the mountain provinces and is one of the mountain provinces, the climate there is cool and gets kind of chilly at times....,takes about 8 hours by BUS (be wary when taking the buses they drive like maniacs most times) to get to Baguio from Manila....if you have a car and can drive like a NUT you can cut the travel time, but the traffic would still hinder you, afterall traffic in the Philippines can seem like a parking-lot at times.....on the Native Tribes that behead people I gotta check on that,...sounds interesting!
