I am interested to hear if any one knows of historical film footage (presumably transferred to VHS or DVD) of the late Shimizu-s. doing SMR Jodo.

TIA.

I just recently got some footage of Shimizu Sensei on dvd from www.robertg.com

Not all of the Shinto Muso Ryu dvds listed have Shimizu Sensei, but several of the Taikai dvds do.

Thank you for your pointing this site out and for your observations.

FYI, there is an interesting cross-thread on e-Budo Gruzanski and Jodo (http://www.e-budo.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23191) in which Robert G. (of www.robertg.com), son of the late Charles Gruzanski, explains his late father's connection to the early spread of Jodo.

I think the 3 Japanese jodoka mentioned in the e-budo thread were traveling around doing demos and such all over the place. I'll have to check to be sure, but I think Don Angier (of Yanagi-ryu Aiki Bugei) wrote an article about them in Black Belt Magazine at the time.
