Tsuka-Ito unwrapping

I have an Iaito I purchased in August or September of 2002. The Tsuka-Ito is coming unwrapped. I am in process of contacting Rick at Swordstore, in the meantime any comments or suggestions?

Bummer. I have had a high-end Iaito from Swordstore since 1997, and the original silk wrap is still fine. In fact, I am considering getting it replaced only because of the discoloration from the nearly eight years of (ab)use. :D

What model do you have? and what material is your wrap made of?

You mentioned that you may have yours re-wrapped. Who would you have perform the wrap?

I am not sure yet. I am going to ask my Batto instructor for recommendations. There are a number of good people in North America I am told who can do a quality job.

Did someone mention Rap?

I'm sure the swordstore would gladly rewrap it, as they are generally very good with service. If not there are other crafters out there, though they would charge an arm and a leg for it.

Depends. Usually within the first year, but it won't hurt to ask. If Swordstore won't rewrap it, then ask for recommendations on who to send it to.
