I've been using a Women's size 38 shinai from either e-bogu or e-mudo in the US. Now I live in Europe and I'm looking for an inexpensive practice women's weight 38 shinai. I used a borrowed regular 38 shinai the other day and it just didn't feel right to me... a little bit heavier maybe but the balance felt off for some reason. The only one I can find is at http://www.kendo-sport.de/shop2/product_info.php?info=p17{1}261_Shinai-AA-Kenyu-for-Women.html but I was thinking more along the lines of 1/2 that price... I think my shinai back in the US cost like $25 or less.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

The kendo24 size 38 shinai is actually the highschool boy's version. I own two and they both weigh close to 500g. They do sell them as lady's 38 shinais and doing 60 katate men suburi with that shinai is no fun. Very solid and durable though.

nine circles
or, though i dont like round grip, leith rose had a nice balanced one with him at the september roshukai seminar
but ask your instructor as he is likely to be able to get you a better price than buying on your own

I ended up going w/ the one from nine circles... it feels even a little lighter than the one I was using before, or maybe it's just because I was using a much heavier club shinai over the past month.
