Hi,
I would ask your sensei or sempai. You're much better off getting personalized instruction and get instant feedback rather than getting instruction online or from a video and having your sensei or sempai correct you later anyway.

When you are beginning, it's hard to get anything "right" because you have to do a lot of things correctly to do the strike. I would recommend that you look at one thing at a time, starting with your footwork. Get that right before you worry too much about your sword. Once your feet are doing the right thing, then worry about the upswing, then the down-stroke, then the grip. Remain relaxed and take one thing at a time. Your sensei will probably correct your worst errors first, refining your technique over years. To one degree or another, we were all klutzy to begin with. Don't give up!

Try this, do not hold a shinai in hand. Take chudan no kamae and have your hands held open. Now quickly raise your hands back toward your ear then flip your wrist at the ear and drop them diagonally forward back to chudan. It will feel like flicking a fly off of your ear, you should hear the rush of air in your ear. Keep your hands close to your head and do not drop your arms away from your side so that you end up cutting from down to up. Cut diagonally down to the do.

Guide the shinai toward the angle with only the right hand as well, the right hand only guides, and make sure the blunt end of the blade is turned at a 45 degree angle.

I dont know your background of kendo, so hard to say.
Even many many shodan and 2 dans dont even have right do strike.
Do is one of difficult(?!) waza in kendo, since it is located more distant from men or kote.
So simple advice for basic do :
-Do not lean forward or look down when you hit do.
-Big fumikomi-ashi with straight posture.
-Same furiage(swing up) as men and cut in 45degree angle or try to scrape opponent's left elbow.
During jigeiko or shiai, bit more diffrent.
-Timing is most important just like any other waza
-Must make opening or set up for your do strike (ie. go for men several times before going for do)
-Try to make letter "C" with your kensaki. (much more small swing)
-Good wrist work ( do not let go your left hand untill you completely strike do... if problem with your wrist, try to slide your left grip toward right during swing motion)
-Of course good zanshin (especially on hikido and gyaku do)
just my 2 cents,
