I am thinking of taking up Kendo, and i need to know if there are any Kendo Schools near pensacola florida. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

i know this thread is 3 years old, but wanted to update it. Big Green Drum, 2447 Executive Plaza, Suite 5 * Pensacola, Florida 32504 850-479-1907 charges $20/month for Kendo. Wednesday 6-7pm. Currently (August 2007) only THREE people for practice?! Still not able to get information regarding the level of members present. Will let you know after we return from visiting. All correspondence has been with Joe Byer. The SEUSKF has no record of this dojo as of 2007. Joe does return email. PM me for his contact information.

Generally, if it's not an IKF registered dojo, it's a bad idea. This sounds very fishy.

Why does the name Joe Byers stand out in my mind? Has he been on the kendo scene in the SEUSKF for a long time?
... or am I confusing him with someone else from Florida (maybe I'm thinking of the late Joe Bass from Ft Myers..)
