I saw something strange in class the other day.
One of the students had an Iaito with a warped Saya.
The Saya is made out of real wood with black gloss lacquer finish.
The Saya some how warped to one side and it bent the alloy blade inside as well.
But the Saya did not have any cracks or splinters, as I would expect. The warping is quite significant at about 15~20 degrees off center.
I wonder if it can be repaired?
