I saw something strange in class the other day.
One of the students had an Iaito with a warped Saya.
The Saya is made out of real wood with black gloss lacquer finish.
The Saya some how warped to one side and it bent the alloy blade inside as well.
But the Saya did not have any cracks or splinters, as I would expect. The warping is quite significant at about 15~20 degrees off center.

I wonder if it can be repaired?

it may be possible by steaming the saya in a tube and clamping it slowly. I would be loathe to try and fix the blade, iaito are only alloy and fracture easily. Probably easier in time, money and effort to just get rid and buy a new one... and be careful how the next one is stored, transported etc. This is how it has been bent, moving from dry to damp, and hot to cold, rooms, not cleaning moisture off the blade if it has been used for cutting all affect the saya.
