Kote: what is double chamber?

I am planning to order a new kendo bogu, because the one that I bought back in 2004 is too small for me now. If you look at the Kote section, there is something called "double chamber" and "singe chamber". What the heck is chamber in kote...? It would be nice if you can point it out for me.

It is what is refered to as 'Kera' or 'Namako' in Japanese, and you can see a diagramme in the article I wrote here - http://thebogublog.blogspot.com/2010/08/complete-bogu-buying-guide.html

Basically, it makes no difference to the performance of the Kote, and is purely decorational, and in Japan, the fasion is to only have one. However, in Korea it seems to be much more popular to have 2. They are definately not an indicator of quality.
