I won a state champ. once in nsw, Aust. one of the prizes was a hand mad hakama. donated by a lady from a club noth of sydney.
Hakama was well made, sturdy but was a ..............wild colour, design could not use it. gave it away I think. the year before she donated a blue one
for fighting spirit award. pretty good hakama. only if she kept to the blue ones. wish I had a photo

Ancient samurai warriors used to say " Let your dojo be everywhere". Well, supposing you had to train near a motorway, such a dressing will be useful.
Better with refractive strips...the next evolution!

My god is that MJER koyru the guy is doing in the very beginning? Maybe the color of the hakamas is an attempt to draw attention away from the iai.

I love it that the chief honcho wears a wrist watch when doing demos.

You ever notice that most of the vids that people know are suspect always have their comments disabled?

Lineage is always vague too. Not one mention of dan grades or sensei the founder studied under on their website as far as I can tell, but the most heinous crime of all is wearing those coloured belts over their hakama. It just looks ugly.

Looks ugly but brings in extra $$$: 1st there is gi + striped belt system for novices, then hakamas + striped belt system for advanced students, then orange and black hakamas + solid color belt system for dans, then red gi with orange hakama with striped belt, then all black gi and hakama...

Oh Lordy! Did anyone else notice that they have removed the option for other people to leave comments?
The sad thing is, and I really mean this, is that they are probably decent people who have had a bit of tuition and then tried to teach this to their aikido students (or whatever it is they do)

Though I dislike this video and don't dig on people deciding on their own to wear a karate belt outside the hakama, Nodachi Jigen-ryu (http://ladyclip.com/videos/play/1268514545/) members do wear something that looks something like a karate obi outside the hakama. I haven't seen it in other koryu though.
Missingno.

Ha ha, that is super cute. If anyone ever gets the chance to go to Kagoshima City, in the Museum of Meiji Restoration (which is specifically about Satsuma's role in the Bakamatsu), there are exhibitions about how samurai children would do exactly that. Also don't miss the Jigen-ryu museum and dojo (http://www.jigen-ryu.com/history_siryou1.html) (not to be confused with Nodachi Jigen-ryu). Both are on Kagoshima's English language tourist maps.
