New to the world of Kendo

Hi. I'm new to the world of Kendo, but I am interested in learning the art. Does anyone know of any websites that are didicated to finding someone who is teaching Kendo around my location? Also, what are your reccommendations on starting equiptment?

You could give your location on the dojo forum and ask if anyone knows if there's a dojo near you. They'll at least point you in the right direction.

As for starting equipment, you don't need anything really. When most people start they just go in sweat pants and a t-shirt. You might need a shinai straight away, but someone will probably lend you one till you get your own.

Starting equipment?
Don't need armor, but a Shinai would be good. Usually when you enter a dojo, you can borrow one from a senpai or something.....as for clothing (Gi and Hakama) It is prefeerable that you purchase them on your own. The dojo you go to should have means of getting some.
