When I first came to these boards they were welcoming and the people who used them were friendly.
If I had a problem, question, or just wanted to chat about Kendo, then I could with like minded people.

Nowadays when a sensible post is made cretins jump on the bandwagon and spoil a post.
Inane comments from the likes of Ali-G and cronies just make me lose interest in the thread.

I'm not blaming moderators, I'm not blaming those people who are genuinely interested but lack the terminology or knowledge to formulate a question in a way that Kendoka can easily respond.

I am just saddened by the childish ranting, and arguing by morons.

This post is NOT trying to instigate an argument.. I'm just stating my feelings.

Hey emit,

I've been around this forum for a while and it seems like this kind of behavior is kinda spiral ish. It comes and it will go away and it comes again. Be patient, get what you can from it, but I think that is the way things seem to be. Just filter through the crap and you can still find this useful.

Also, isn't there a way to block certain users posts from displaying on your computer. That may help to filter out annoying stuff, but it won't do much to end the responses to the blocked out posts. Can't do much about that.

Cheers Nodachi for the support.

Glum day + lots of work + stupid threads = rant and rave.

I've done it before... I'm sure I'll do it again.

Sorry to all.

Don't apologize. Many of us feel that same way; however, we filter out the "noise" and enjoy the rest. That's the price for having open forums.

*nods*

That applies to *any* forums too. :(

I'm suprised Ali-G hasnt posted here. seeing I posted here he's sure to follow. He basically stalks every post I make and comments on my picture of my holding my 2 wall hanger swords. It was just a picture. lol I think I was posting somewheres about injuries where he replied to my post talking about my reverse blade katana (wich I found out iot really is a wall hanger sword because its not properly made. its full tang, but no pins to hold the blade in the hilt X.X''' how horrid.) but eventually I'm sure things will cool. Theres always a few rough spots in forums at times. lol

I travel around several forums, at various sites, and its the same.
Its either very clicky (friends of friends only) and your questions dont get taken seriously, or you get back the silly one liners from people who feel they should say something, but have nothing of real value to add.

Its a sad fact, but it may have something to do with age. I would guess most of the silly post is from very young immature people, with little else in their lives, and because they can be anonymous, they can show very little respect for others.

The good news is they do get older, in time.

Emit,
I know what you mean. This used to be a great place to pick up pointers and info, but there is just too much crap to weed through now, it's barely worth logging on anymore.

I've been here about for over a year now, and for the first time I must say that I now use and absolutely love the IGNORE option. Clears up the crap really fast.

Ideally, we shouldn't have crap in the first place. Before Kill Bill and the Last Samurai, the place was really informative and now a certain cadre of individuals feel the need to spout off on just about anything, not matter how ignorant or irrelevant the comments may be, and it brings down the entire board. For those individuals who insist on producing the aforementioned crap, I'm sure there's an AOL-type board that would be more appropriate.

True that alot of filth is spoken around many forums and I, as many others, do not like that......... on the other hand some ppls posts in this thread sound that they prefer this forum to almost be like an online dojo........... that is incorrect aswell. What about the loudmouths that can actually pick up some pointers around here and learn the correct way..........? Give the bums a chance to improve........even if its just 1 person that can benefit, how can he benefit if every1 thats has something beneficial to tell is fleading the forum.......
